Easy To Set-Up & Use Adding our multiple chat room system to your website is easy. Simply add the HTML code snippet you create using our HTML code builder wizard to a page on your site, upload the new page to your web site and you're ready for your web site visitors to start chatting! The Chat Forum applet requires an area on your web page 600(W) x 500(H) pixels. |
Multiple Chat Rooms Our entry level chat forum can support up to 10 individual chat rooms, all accessible from your main forum. Additional room are available in other packages. Forum users may join multiple chat rooms at one time with each chat room having the option to stay embedded in the main tabbed interface or floated in its own separate window. |
Your Own Colours & Logo You can set the colour of some elements of the chat system to match your website colour scheme. You may also add your own 120 x 90 pixel logo (GIF image) to be displayed in the main login area. |
Allows 100+ Forum Users Our entry level service allows up to 100 forum users to access your forum at any one time. All users can enter a single or multiple rooms allowing 100 users in a room! More users and rooms are available as alternative packages. |
Private 1-2-1 Chat Sessions Your forum users can chat to each other in private 1-2-1 chat windows. Users do not need to be in a public chat room to hold a private chat. Private chats may be disabled by the forum admin. Forum users can also disable incoming private chat requests. |
Forum Title & Welcome Message You can set your own forum title, shown in the top border plus a forum welcome message to be displayed to users when they connect to the forum. |
Staff User Accounts You can create up to 40 staff user accounts. These users have access to staff features such as user warn and eject but do not have access to forum setup functions (only the Admin account may change forum settings!) |
Reserved Username Accounts You can create up to 2000 password protected user names. These users do not get any special features apart from a user name that is protected from use by any other forum users. You may also optionally 'Lock Down' the forum or individual rooms to only allow staff and reserved users to login. |
Admin Controls As the Admin user you have access to a dedicated Admin Console allowing you to set forum settings such as forum welcome message, room names, room passwords, room welcome messages, word filters and user control lists (Staff & Reserved). You also have access to all staff controls. There is only one Admin account and this account must be used to access the Admin Console. |
Staff Controls Staff users can open and close a room floor (only staff can input to room), assign speaker rights, assign quizmasters, warn and eject users, run quiz or moderator functions or send chat room users to other URLs. Staff users are also provided with extra profile information such as a users IP address. |
Unique Quiz Feature Staff users, or ANY user assigned by a staff user can run a trivia quiz session in any room with this feature. Includes a running scoreboard to show user scores! |
Moderator Feature Conduct 'Special Guest' interviews or events in a room with this feature. When a room is moderated, all text is vetted by the room moderator before being sent to the room. The room moderator can give any room user speaker rights whereby the user may talk freely within the room (a special guest to answer questions for example). |
Unique Dice Roll Feature Allows users within a room to roll one or two dice randomly selected by the server. Useful for RPG and Gaming Sites for example. |
User Profiles When a user logs into the forum they have the opportunity of entering a brief profile. Other forum users may view this profile whilst the user is connected to the forum. |

Furthermore, our own in-house testing software ensures your forum is up and running when you need it! |

Staff Functions & FeaturesThese features are available to Staff users only. |
Extended Profile Info Includes users IP address, and the last username used (if known). |
User Warn Allows a staff user to send an annon conduct warning to a chat room user. |
User Silence Prevents a chat room user from sending messages to the current chat room. The user can be unsilenced at any time. |
User Eject Removes a problematic user from the chat forum and bans the IP address for a period of up to an hour. There is no way to un-eject a user, they must wait out the penalty time. |
Close Floor The 'floor' of a chat room may be temporary closed, preventing all non staff users from sending messages into the room. Use to calm down a heated debate, state rules for a quiz or game, or any other time you wish users to be 'read only'. Speaker rights may be granted to any chat room user allowing them to bypass this sanction. |
Moderate Room When a chat room is moderated, all messages are sent via the room moderator for approval before being sent to the room. Speaker rights may be granted to any chat room user allowing them to bypass this sanction. |
Assign Quiz Host Assign any chat room user, including himself, to be the quiz host for the chat room. Access will be granted to the special quiz features where the user can start and run a quiz session, including running scoreboard. |
Send Web Pages Web pages can be sent to either individual chat room users or every user of the current chat room. These will be opened in a new browser window. |

Admin and Advanced FeaturesAdmin user functions and advanced forum options. |
Admin Console A dedicated forum control panel allows direct control of your chat forum server including setting up rooms, adding staff and reserved usernames, uploading banners and logos and other forum settings. Also includes a HTML code builder to generate the code needed for your webpage(s). These options are available via the Admin tab in the Options window while logged in as the Admin user. |
Modern Chat Interface Uses our new embedded tabbed graphic based client which includes tabbed and floating rooms, emoticons, message highlighting, button images etc., Runs on Windows, Linux and MAC operating systems with the latest Java runtime installed. |
Chat Room Logging Server based downloadable Chat Room Logs are available in several formats, Full Logs which include IP address and Time Stamp info, and Transcript versions with this sensitive data removed, ideal for publishing on message boards etc. |
Banner Rotator The built-in banner rotator allows you to display up to five clickable banner images or text links each with an associated click through destination link, directly into the message area of the chat rooms. These can be used advertise products, services or particular pages on your website. |
Word & Username Filters This optional feature allows you to ban certain user names and words used in the public chat rooms. You can have 200 banned user names and 200 banned words. |
IP Address Filter You can ban problematic IP addresses on a permanent basis. Unlike the temporary "Eject" style ban, IP addresses added to this list will be banned until they are removed. |
Preset Room Actions Set up to 10 preset room actions for common actions, for example: 'will be right back'. These will appear in the Actions menu within the chat rooms. |
Default Text Sizes Allows you to set the default start-up font sizes for the forum information area, private messages and chat room message output areas. |
Room Message Timestamp Allows you to set an optional local time stamp for incoming chat room messages. The time will be shown before the username at the beginning of each new message. |
Auto Room Join The chat forum interface can be optionally set to auto join a user to a particular room when they enter the forum. You may also prevent the user from changing rooms using the Single Room Mode feature below. |
Single Room Mode When used with Auto Room Join above, will prevent the user from joining the other rooms or interacting with other global forum users. This is achieved by preventing access to the Rooms and Users windows. This restriction may be overridden for users logging in as Staff. |
Anti-Flood Feature To prevent chat room disruptions by problematic users sending repeated messages to the chat room ('scrolling') you can set the number of seconds a user must wait after sending a message and attempting to send another. |
Optional Limits/Defaults Various forum settings can be disabled such as private messages (makes available to staff only), Dice roll and staff users access to user IP addresses. You may also set defaults for sounds on/off and the text sizes for forum info, private chat and chat room messages. |
Dynamic Websites You can pass in to the forum the values for username, password and profile as applet parameters on your page. You can also instruct the applet to auto connect using these values, useful for sites running some form of membership/login system. |
